The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has published its anticipated rule implementing the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act, both part of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA). The regulations address and clarify important aspects of the emergency legislation.

The entire 124-page rule can be viewed online (pertinent regulations begin on page 82). The DOL has also compiled a list of helpful materials, including multiple fact sheets, FAQs, posters, and field bulletins. The Wage and Hour Division will post a recorded webinar on Friday, April 3, 2020 to provide a more in-depth description of the FFCRA.

Perkins Coie attorneys are currently reviewing the new regulations and will provide a summary and additional analysis of the rule here. We encourage you to stay tuned to this blog and subscribe for regular updates on this and other COVID-19 developments.
